Norwegian Muslim Praises Killings Of Soldiers

From The Foreigner (Norway):
Lt Col Lars Lervik signs the condolence

Mohyeldeen Mohammed, the outspoken Muslim, is in the news again. Reports from VG indicate he’s praised Allah in an open statement on his Facebook page for Sunday’s roadside bomb that killed four Norwegian soldiers.

At war

The controversial 24-year-old from Iraq has previously advocated stoning homosexuals to death, and has warned of terrorist reprisals on Norwegian soil at a demonstration in Oslo in the wake of Dagbladet’s publishing of a Prophet Mohammed cartoon.

“These monsters aren’t soldiers, as Western Freemasonic media portrays them. Therefore, I wish death and misery upon ever single Norwegian, or other Western terrorist assailants, who travel to our countries and partake in an illegal occupation of and aggression against one of the world’s poorest countries,” writes Mohammed.

Arfan Qadir Bhatti agrees. Bhatti has recently been acquitted of charges of planning a paramilitary attack on the US and Israeli Embassies in Norway.

“Norwegian soldiers are terrorists and must expect to be assassinated. They’re at war and have probably killed civilians,” he says....

Son Of Hate Preacher Abu Hamza Jailed For Attacking Police At London Demonstration

From the Daily Mail (UK):
The son of hate preacher Abu Hamza has been locked up for attacking police during anti-Israel riots in London.

Yasser Kamel, 20, was caught on camera lobbing sticks at police and wielding a stolen police riot shield during a demonstration against Gaza sanctions outside the Israeli embassy.

Wearing a scarf to disguise his face, the student was at the frontline when hundreds of protesters caused £50,000 of damage to shops and cafes last year.

Then 18, he was seen throwing four missiles at police before changing his clothing to evade detection, Isleworth Crown Court heard.

Yesterday the son of the firebrand cleric was sentenced to 12 months in youth detention after pleading guilty to one count of violent disorder.

During violent clashes on January 10 last year one riot officer suffered a broken jaw after a metal rivet - used to clip fences together - was thrown at the police line and smashed through the protective visor on his helmet.

The officer was seen on a video recorded by police rolling on the ground in agony after being hit by the rivet, which was thrown by another protester.

Hamza's son arrived at the protest around 4.45pm as police tried to quell the increasing disorder after rioters smashed cafe windows.

He was seen on camera confronting officers and being shown how to use the police riot shield by another demonstrator who had stolen it from officers.

Police arrested Kamel that evening. The student, who has twoprevious convictions for dishonesty, refused to watch as a series of still images and videos were shown to the court of his role in the riot.

Benn Maguire, prosecuting, said of the disorder: 'Unfortunately some of the individuals abused their democratic right to demonstrate, and pursued a cause of what we would say is serious public disorder.'

Mr Maguire said Kamel, who lives in Shepherd's Bush, West London, 'was an active and enthusiastic participant.'

During earlier hearings, Kamel tried to ban reports of his relationship to his father, claiming his trial would be prejudiced.

Defending, Matthew Ryder QC asked the judge not to jail Kamel, saying a tough community order would be appropriate.

But Judge John Denniss said: 'I accept the mitigation that you only arrived at 4.43pm and had not been involved in the earlier fighting and violent disorder that had taken place.

'But the videos also demonstratethe gravity and seriousness of what was taking place during this. This was extremely serious.'

It is not the first time that members of Abu Hamza's family have appeared in the British courts.

His eldest son, Mohammed Kamel Mostafa, was jailed for plotting to blow up British tourists.

He was accused of masterminding a plot to sabotage economic and tourist sites in Yemen in August 1999, when he was just 17.

He returned to London in January 2002 after serving three years in prison in the Arab state.

Last year Hamza's sons Hamza Kamel, 22, Mohamed Mostafa, 27, and stepson Mohssin Ghailam, 28, were sent to prison for a £1million luxury car scam.

Abu Hamza, 52, who was jailed for seven years in February 2006 for incitement to murder and inciting racial hatred, is currently in a high security jail fighting attempts to extradite him to the U.S. on terror charges.

Baha'i Houses Demolished In Iran

From the Hurriyet (Turkey):
Some 50 houses owned by members of Iran's Baha'i religious minority have been demolished in a village northeast of Tehran, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Radio Farda reported.

The incident took place last weekend in Ivel, in Mazandaran Province.

Radio Farda spoke to Baha'i Natoly Derakhshan, who witnessed the destruction of the homes. He told the station that the houses were first set on fire and later demolished by four bulldozers.

"We informed the governor's office that they were destroying our houses, but they did nothing to prevent it," Derakhshan said.

The incident is not the first time that homes of Baha'is have been demolished in Iran. Baha'i cemeteries have also been razed, most recently in a May 29 incident in the northeastern city of Mashhad.

The Baha'i faith began in Iran in the 19th century, and currently has an estimated 5 million followers worldwide.

While Baha'is regard their faith as within the tradition of Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad, Iran's Shi'ite government regards Baha'ism as Islamic heresy.

There are some 300,000 followers of the Baha'i faith living in Iran, a community that human rights groups say has faced serious repression under the Islamic republic.

Iran Says Western World Cup Losses Are Allah's Punishment

What do the mullahs have to say since Iran didn't even qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup? You can bet they'd blame women, which is what they excel at.

From Un:Dhimmi:
Don't frown Fabio, it wasn't you. Nor, apparently, was it your band of overpaid Sunday League flops - it was the will of Allah!

Says the sourfaced, population-abusing Mullahcracy that didn’t even qualify:

Iran says its enemies deserved to crash out of World Cup, Foreign Minister Mottaki tells reporters, ‘Countries which played key role in imposing new sanctions against Iran—like England, America and France — got what they deserved in soccer tournament’

The elimination of England, France and the United States in the early stages of the World Cup was a just reward for their ill-treatment of Iran, its foreign minister said on Tuesday.

Iran did not qualify for the tournament in South Africa but fans have been glued to their televisions nonetheless in a country where soccer is the number one sport.

While the United States—often referred to by Iran’s leaders as “the great Satan”—was never a favorite at the tournament, the elimination of England and France before the quarter-finals was a crushing blow to their fans back home.

England and the US both lost in second round matches while Italy and world champions Italy fell in the opening group stage.

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said they had all got what they deserved after they backed a new round of sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program which the West fears may be aimed at making a bomb, something Tehran denies.

“Whatever we witness today in the international political arena has been identically manifested in the 19th tournament of the World Cup,” Mottaki was quoted as saying by Iran’s official news agency IRNA.

“Those countries which played a key role in imposing new sanctions against Iran—like England, America and France — were all eliminated in the preliminary phases,” he said.

Brazil, which voted against the sanctions, is one of the favorites to win having impressively reached the last eight with a crushing 3-0 victory over Chile on Monday.

Iran played at the last World Cup finals in Germany four years ago but finished bottom of their qualifying group.

In 1998, they famously beat the United States 2-1 although neither side went through to the next round.

IRNA tried to interpret Mottaki’s remarks. “The foreign minister did not say it directly, but he apparently meant that the countries which supported the anti-Iranian resolution will withdraw from the diplomatic arena in the near future,” the news agency said.

IRNA Director Ali Akbar Javanfekr said Brazil, one of the favorites to win the World Cup, is expected to “play a more central role in international affairs, particularly regarding the opposition to Security Council sanctions.”

Cluebat for FM Motakki: If you prevented your degenerate, sadistic security forces from imprisoning, beating, killing and prison-raping your country’s young men; maybe you’d have a decent football team.

Perhaps if you also reflected on the fact that you are there to serve your people – not to humiliate, torture and kill them whenever they show any sign of expressing free will – then that team might just win some supporters, too. Insha’allah.

After Failed Attempt Of Forced Islamization Egyptian Christian Family Under Siege

From Continental News:
A Middle Eastern journalist has revealed that “one of the most explosive issues in the relations between Christians and Muslims of Egypt is the abduction of Christian Coptic minor girls, to force them to embrace Islam, after humiliating and demeaning them psychologically and morally.”

Mary Abdelmassih, in a story for the Assyrian International News Agency (www.aina.org) said, “This dangerous phenomenon which appeared in the 1970s and which has become a lucrative business for all Muslim participants including the Egyptian State Security has been steadily on the rise, with reports surfacing weekly of several disappearances without trace of Coptic girls.”

She said that those fortunate enough to return home have talked of their ordeal. (See: www.aina.org/news/20091223164421.htm )

The girl said that she refused to tell the police the names of her abductors, especially Sayed Khalaf, for fear of retribution. She is staying presently with her aunt.

Magdy Attia, one of the Coptic witnesses who demonstrated in front of the police station until Zeenahom was handed over to her father said that nearly two hundred Muslims, together with Sayed Khalaf’s family were there with weapons intimidating them.

“We were told that they will take Zeenahom by force to convert and marry her main abductor Sayed Khalaf, a driver by occupation, who has divorced his Muslim wife recently,” he said. “We were told Zeenahom will be Sayed’s second wife.”

Abdelmassih went on to say that the victim’s father said that the village mayor has beaten him when he said that he wanted to talk to his abducted daughter on the phone. He filed a police accusing the mayor of being an accomplice. Later he was threatened by the mayor demanding that his daughter retracts any accusations she made to Copts United advocacy of his involvement in her abduction and forced Islamization attempt.

Talking of his siege he said: “I could not leave my home, as all roads were blocked. I had to phone the police to come and let me out of the area.”

A few days later, Abdelmassih continued, the police and one of the members of the local council in Samalout, Magdi Malek, forced on them, the so-called “reconciliation meeting” in which it was decided that the whole Coptic family should be deported from the village, reported Copts United.

Commenting on this case, Coptic attorney Mamdouh Nakhla, Director of the Al-Kalema human rights centre said: “Forcing the girl and her family out of the village and leaving their home, for whatever reason, is a crime of forced displacement, which is a crime against humanity, punishable by the International Criminal Court.”

Nakhla says that he viewed the reconciliation meeting which was held in Ezbet Fanous as a “meeting for submission, and imposing the will of the strong upon the weak.” He intends to head a fact-finding commission to the area next week to document what happened to the girl’s family and interview witnesses.

Although her father has filed a report naming the abductors of his daughter, no action was taken against them.

“I am pleading for protection from the family of Sayed Khalaf. I am afraid to leave my home. I need to go to work to earn money to feed my family. Sayed told me he will be after us until we all convert to Islam,” the father told Freecopts.

“Sayed’s family is strong, they are numerous and have weapons… but I am only a poor man.”

Abdelmassih went on to say that Zeenahom (Suzan) Nady Adly, 19-years old, “is one of the fortunate girls who was able to return home, after being drugged and abducted by Muslims to force her conversion to Islam.

“She comes from Ezbet Fanous, a small hamlet, near the town of Samalut (150 miles from Cairo), inhabited by a Coptic majority of twenty families to six Muslim ones and a Muslim mayor.”

The journalist said that according to the girl’s story, as she went out at night on Saturday, June 12, 2010, to buy soft drinks for some visitors at home, she was stopped by two Muslim men, who sprayed a substance in her face, making her lose consciousness.

“When I regained consciousness nearly two hours later, I found myself in the building of the Islamic Sharia Association in Minia, facing a shaikh [Islamic scholar] who tried to intimidate and force me to convert to Islam,” reported Freecopts advocacy in a taped interview with Zeenahom. “He tried to convince me that I would be safer marrying a Muslim, and leaving the area.”

However, the shaikh contacted State Security to tell them that he wanted her to convert, but he was told to let her go as her family was not keeping quiet.

Meanwhile, said Abdelmassih, her father, Nady Adly, had sent telegrams to all authorities and her family demonstrated in front of Samalut police headquarters asking for her return, which forced the security authorities to intervene.

“However, her ordeal continued at the police station where she was taken the next day. Zeenahom accused the village mayor Khalaf Ebdelmageed of masterminding her abduction at the hands of Muslim Sayed Khalaf and another named Taha El-Hinnawi, in exchange for money,” said the story.

Zeenahom was reported as saying, “While I was at the police station, the village mayor told me that I was too good to be a Christian. He asked me to say in the police report that I will convert to Islam, but I refused.”

Chechen Police Shoot Paintballs At Women With Uncovered Hair

From Change.org:
Police officers in Chechnya have been firing paintballs at Chechen women with uncovered hair; the policemen drive by in cars with tinted windows and shoot the women in the face and neck as they're walking down the street.

Following the initial attacks last week, fliers from the shooters appeared in the Chechen city of Gudermes warning that if women didn't cover themselves the paintballers would resort to "tougher measures." The fliers also admonished, "Isn't it nasty for you, while dressed defiantly, with your head uncovered, to hear various obscene 'compliments' and proposals? Think again!"

This infuriating and degrading development — shooting women with paint?! — is one result of Russia's cold bargain with Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, a Chechen rebel-turned-Kremlin-loyalist. Trying to maintain control over Chechnya and quash any separatist uprisings, Russia has essentially allowed Kadryov to run the Chechen republic according to his version of Islamic law.

Russia has turned the other cheek as Kadryov gathers thousands of men into a personal militia to enforce bans on alcohol and mandatory headscarves for women. This method of enforcement via paintballing is particularly abhorrent — both violent and humiliating, a form of subtle terror aimed at forcing women into subjugation.

Human rights activist Lyudmila Alexeyeva told Reuters, "this paintballing is an obvious Kadyrov rule just used to strengthen and tighten his grip over his tiny republic." Shooting women with paint in the face on the street and filming it on mobile phones, then, is apparently this man's idea of strengthening power. This is an alarming sign of the increasing oppression of women in Chechnya that the international community needs to speak out about immediately, chastising both Kadyrov and the government in Moscow for violent violations of women's rights and dignity.

Iraqi Christian Leaders Call On Baghdad Government To Defend Minority Rights

From the Assyrian International News Agency:
On Saturday, the CSI co-sponsored 2nd All-Iraqi Christian Leadership Conference issued an eight-point appeal urging the Baghdad government to help Iraq's dwindling minority community survive inside the country. Convening on Saturday, June 26 just outside Mosul in the town of Kara Kosh (Hamdaniya), 76 Iraqi Christian leaders from a variety of churches, political parties and civil society groups, together with representation from other minorities, called for:

1) Constitutional amendments to strengthen minority rights and legislation for the implementation of constitutional guarantees;

2) Adequately financed and rationally conceived programs designed to facilitate the voluntary return of the country's refugees;

3) National Commission for Minority Affairs to promote peaceful dialogue between religious and ethnic groups;

4) A University in Nineveh Province; 5) Security for vulnerable minority communities;

6) Fulfillment of Iraq's obligation to respect international human rights instruments;

7) Increased representation of Christians in the federal and state parliaments; and

8) Increased investment in the infrastructure of previously marginalized areas populated mainly by minorities.

Dr. John Eibner, CEO of CSI's U.S. affiliate warned that the prospect of extinction still faces Iraq's ancient Christian community, and would do so until violent persecution ceases and basic human rights are guaranteed in word and deed.

In an interview with Iraq's Mosuli TV, Eibner noted that the considerable progress providing security in Mosul and surrounding Nineveh Province during the past year is reversible.

Since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003, nearly half of Iraq's approximately one million Christians have been forced by violence to flee the country, while many other remain in Iraq as destitute Internally Displaced People.

The Governor of Nineveh Province, Athil Al-Najifi, in his role as Conference Patron, announced that outside interference and instrumentalization of minorities in Nineveh is coming to an end, and expressed willingness to establish a mechanism, including all elements of civil society, to defend minority rights.

William Warda, President of the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization (HHRO) claimed that neither the Iraqi nor the American governments are acting with sufficient energy and foresight to end the violent persecution of Iraq's Christians and to create conditions for the return of refugees.

The Chaldean Catholic Archbishop of Kirkuk, Louis Sako, urged Christians not to leave Iraq, emphasizing the need for an enduring Christian witness in the country.

The Conference was co-sponsored by CSI and by HHRO.

Muslim FBI Informant Ostracized By Muslim Community In U.S.

From Jihad Watch:

One would have thought that the Vast Majority of loyal, patriotic American Muslims would celebrate Mahmoud Omar as a hero. Why don't they? Why does a man who helped the FBI against jihadists say, "I lost my people. I lost my religion"? And why don't authorities ask that question, and seek answers to it? "From star FBI witness to ostracism, loss," by George Anastasia for the Philadelphia Inquirer, June 27 (thanks to all who sent this in):

This is not the way Mahmoud Omar thought things would play out.

Omar, the Egyptian-born FBI informant who was the key prosecution witness in the Fort Dix terrorism trial, is sitting at the kitchen table in his two-bedroom apartment trying to make sense of what has happened to him.

He has an eviction notice for overdue rent, an application for welfare, a foundering export business, and an uncertain immigration status.

The South Jersey apartment is sparsely furnished. There is little food in the refrigerator.

Omar is living week to week, sometimes day to day, with his American-born wife, Jessica, who grew up in Maple Shade, and their two children, a daughter, 6, and a son, 3.

"How can this be?" he asks, his eyes flashing anger, dismay, and disappointment. "It was a good case. I help. Now I have what?"

His heavily accented voice trails off. "Nothing."

Chain-smoking cigarettes, Omar, 41, was talking publicly for the first time about his experience as an informant enlisted by the FBI as its point man in the Fort Dix investigation, and about the impact the case and its aftermath have had on his life.

Eighteen months after a federal jury in Camden convicted all five defendants, the star witness is unsure of his future and has doubts about his past. [...]

"I lost my people," Omar said during one in a series of rambling interviews over the last month. "I lost my religion. And I can do nothing about it."

Unless you come from his culture, he said, it is almost impossible to understand what that means.

For Omar, his ability to function in America was built around a network of friends, relatives, and associates in the Muslim community.

That network, he said, no longer exists for him.

He has been ostracized because of what he did.

No matter, he said, that the five men he helped convict were accused of plotting to kill American soldiers. In a twisted way, he said, their actions are understandable in the Muslim community.

"For Muslims, we are all brothers, and I betrayed a brother," he said.

Omar does not go to a mosque anymore, he said, because he knows he will not be welcome.

No one had told him that. But, he said, touching his chest, "I know in here."

"Muslim people don't believe these kids did anything," he said. "And they are never going to believe it. They don't want to believe it." [...]

To many of them, he said, he is a traitor.

Back in this country, relatives and former business associates want nothing to do with him.

"The people I did business with are gone," he said. "They say, 'You made your choice. You helped the American government. Why should we help you? Let the American government help you.' " [...]

The Inquirer hauls out a dhimmi professor who blames the U.S. for Omar's ostracism by the Muslims:

William Granara, a professor of Arabic studies at Harvard University, said it appeared Omar was experiencing a "conflict of loyalties" not uncommon in the immigrant experience.

But for many Muslim immigrants, it is intensified because of "the sense of disempowerment and alienation" that the community feels.

That, Granara added, might explain how some Muslims would look at Omar and say, "How can you do this at a time when America is treating us this way?" [...]

What way, exactly? At a time when America is making you freer, more prosperous, and safe from physical danger than you would be in virtually any Muslim country on earth?

Aceh Police Cane Three For Gambling

From the Jakarta Post (Indonesia):
hree Daya Daboh men were caned Friday on charges that they were gambling in the front of Al Munawarah Mosque in Jantho, Aceh, under a penalty dictated by Islamic sharia law.

Muktar Rahmadi, Hasbi Bin Acek and Suherman were arrested with 18 other people last month for gambling at a card game during a wedding ceremony.

The trio each received seven strokes of the cane. A fourth defendant, Yasin Bin Usman, was not caned because of an illness.

Police confiscated a deck of playing cards and Rp 2,861,000 (US$314) in cash at the crime scene.

“They killed time by playing cards while waiting for the next morning, when they planned to slaughter a cow,” Aceh police detective chief Agung Prasetyo said.

Zulkifli, a government official, said the caning would deter future criminal activity.

Caning has been a penalty for criminal offenses in Aceh since 2003, as part of the province’s implementation of sharia law.

“We hope the punishment will reduce the number of criminals,” he said.

Sharia law stipulates that criminals may be caned for a variety of offenses.

People convicted of promulgating religious beliefs other than Islam to Muslims in the Aceh may be caned, for example.

Muslims who miss Friday evening prayers three times in a row without an excuse can be fined Rp 2 million, sentenced to six months in prison or given three strokes of the cane, under sharia law.

Vendors who operate food stalls during Ramadhan, the Muslim fasting month, may also be caned.

Vendors who sell food, beverages or cigarettes, whether in public or in secret, during Ramadan

can be fined up to Rp 4 million, sentenced to a year in prison or given five strokes of the cane, under sharia law.

Hard-Line Groups Target Christianity With Shariah Law

From the Jakarta Post (Indonesia):
A joint congress of Muslim organizations demanded the Bekasi regency and municipality administrations immediately implement Islamic sharia law to deter the growth of Christianity in the area.

“We will urge the [Bekasi] regency and municipal administrations to pass more sharia-based bylaws and regulations to limit apostasy and squeeze out attempts to weaken Muslim unity in the city,” Sulaiman Zachawerus, the chairman of the Bekasi branch of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), said Sunday at the conclusion of a congress of more than 500 participants at Al Azhar mosque.

Apart from hard-line Muslim groups in the area, the congress, which was held on the past two Sundays, was also attended by local branches of two mainstream Muslim organizations, Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama.

“[Christians] have gone too far,” Abdul Rouf, the head of the Bekasi branch of Muhammadiyah, said.

The congress also called for the establishment of the Laskar Pemuda (Youth Soldiers) paramilitary group to thwart “possible conflict with local Christians” following the organizations’ joint call to fight what they called attempts by Christians to convert the local population.

“We are planning to station members [of the group] in every mosque in the city,” said Tunggal Sawabi, an official with the Bekasi branch of the Islam Defenders Front (FPI) who was appointed as one of the “field commanders”.

This first-ever joint forum in the area was held after a series of clashes between Muslims and Christians.

Rapid development in residential and industrial zones has turned Bekasi, located in the outskirts of Jakarta, into a more culturally and religiously diverse city, making it vulnerable to religious conflict, mainly between Muslims and Christians.

In the past, such conflict has flared up around the city, mostly triggered by disputes over allegedly unauthorized churches.

This year, the number of inter-religious conflicts has grown.

Last month, a Christian school in Pondok Gede was attacked after a former student allegedly posted a picture showing him putting a copy of the Koran in a toilet in the school’s blog.

A few weeks later, after protracted pressure from hard-line Islamic groups, the Bekasi municipal administration finally decided to forcefully take down the Tiga Mojang (Three Ladies) sculpture from the entrance to the Kota Harapan Indah residential complex, following the groups’ allegations that the sculpture was obscene and symbolic of the Christian Trinity.

Yunahar Ilyas, a chairman of Muhammadiyah, admitted that there were innate “ethical” problems with religious missionaries in the country.

The “unwritten” rules among missionaries, he said, stipulated that one should not attempt to convert those who had already embraced a religion.

“Once the rule is broken, it becomes a sensitive matter and the local administration must play an active intermediary role in preventing the conflict from escalating.”

Yunahar, however, said the sharia law proposal ran counter to interfaith dialogue in the area, which should have solved the issue.

“This case proves interfaith dialogue is merely a superficial process that has little impact,” he said.

Iraqi Asylum Seeker Bought Three Homes, Claimed £700,000 In UK Benefit Fraud

From Un:Dhimmi:
Not to mention a university education for herself and private schooling for her son. More celebration of diversity and enjoyment of the fruits of Cultural Enrichment™, this time from Britain’s ‘ethical’ asylum policy:

An asylum seeker bought three homes and sent her son to a fee-paying school by illegally claiming more than £700,000 in benefits, a court heard.

Mahira Rustam Al-Azawi, 49, used a series of false identities to milk Britain’s lax benefit system over eight years. Although she never worked, she was able to purchase three properties – two of which she rented out – worth in excess of £1million.

Her 18-year-old son was educated at Colfe’s School, in South-East London, where fees are currently £4,164 a term.

The fraud was uncovered only when Al-Azawi, from Iraq, successfully applied for a student loan to study civil engineering at Greenwich University. When police raided her £800,000 detached home in Bromley, they found an ‘Aladdin’s cave’ of false documents, including a selection of passports, identity papers and driving licences.

She had converted the garage into an office and described herself to neighbours as an ‘internet entrepreneur’.

During her trial at Croydon Crown Court, it emerged that she had claimed for income support, housing and council tax benefits in her own name, as well as those of her cousin and mother.

She also obtained two mortgages by claiming she was a self-employed businesswoman.

Judge Stephen Waller jailed Al-Azawi for three years after she was found guilty of 13 offences of benefit fraud, forgery and theft.

Critics say the case highlights the welfare profligacy that grew unchecked under Labour. The new Government has promised to crack down on Britain’s ‘out of control’ benefits bill....

Leftists Harass Muslims For Supporting Germany In World Cup

From The Local (German):
Leftist anarchists in Berlin have reportedly been harassing Muslim immigrants showing their support for the German football team during the World Cup, tearing down national flags and even setting one on fire.

The leftists have been particularly aggressive in the city’s Neukölln district, home to many residents of Turkish and Arabic heritage, daily Der Tagesspiegel reported on Monday.

Here they have made a point of destroying and removing Germany flags hanging outside shops and vehicles because they believe the proud patriotism hearkens back to the ugly nationalism of the Third Reich, the paper said.

A group calling itself "Kommando Kevin-Prince Boateng" posted a notice on the website Indymedia calling on leftists to “capture” all Germany flags across the country. The name refers to the Berlin-born footballer, who is playing for Ghana at the world cup and knocked German team captain Michael Ballack out of the tournament with a brutal foul in the FA Cup final in May.

One Arab-German family has sparked their ire by hanging a giant Germany flag on their Sonnenallee building in support of the football team during the World Cup.

Ibrahim Bassal, who owns a mobile phone shop in the district, told daily Berliner Morgenpost on Saturday that since he and his cousin hoisted the flag they have had several uncomfortable encounters with the local leftists.

“During the day people from the left-wing scene come by and insult us,” Bassal said. “Am I not allowed to be proud of Germany?”

Bassal and his cousin Badr Mohammed, a well-known conservative Christian Democratic Berlin politician who lives in the same building, worked together to get the 20-metre-long flag, which cost them €500.

In recent days the situation has escalated, with the anarchists attempting to remove the flag four times and even setting it on fire, the paper reported. On one occasion a group managed to gain access to the roof of the building and cut the flag down.

Last Friday evening some 16 people dressed in typical black anarchist garb confronted Bassal in his shop, and the mood was tense, the paper said.

After Germany’s World Cup victory over Ghana last week Bassal reportedly stayed up to look after his shop until 4 am.

“They see us as immigrants,” he said. “They don’t understand that Germans who aren’t from Germany would defend Germany.”

Both Bassal and Mohammed told Berliner Morgenpost that they are incredulous they have to defend hanging a German flag to native Germans.

Though the store owner’s entire family have been citizens for many years, the leftists believe immigrants must remain foreigners, he added.

Meanwhile many of the residents of Arab or Turkish descent who live in the multicultural district are defending the huge flag and continuing to show their support, the paper reported.

The family has organised nighttime surveillance of the flag with neighbours to prevent further attacks, they said.

“We won’t let our pride be taken away,” Bassal and Mohammed said.

But according to Der Tagesspiegel, Bassal has decided to remove the flag and hoist it only on days when there is a Germany match. Meanwhile other residents told the paper they were taking special care not to leave their flags unattended.

Christian Professor In Pakistan Beaten For Refusing To Convert

From Continental News:
Christian Professor in Pakistan Beaten for Refusing to Convert. In another province, three eighth-grade students expelled for declining Islam.

Muslim students attacked a Christian professor at the University of Peshawar this month after he refused their demand to convert to Islam, the instructor told Compass.

Psychology professor Samuel John, a father of four who has been teaching at the university in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province for 12 years, said that as he came out of his house on the university campus at 8:30 a.m. on June 14, about 20 to 25 students rushed and assaulted him.

“I shouted for help, but no one came to help,” he said.

When his wife learned what was happening, she ran to help him, but the students beat her as well. Both John and his wife were rushed to Lady Reading hospital, where they were treated for their injuries, with John listed in critical condition.

“I am still getting threats,” the professor told Compass. “They say, ‘Leave the university or accept Islam – if you don’t convert, we will kill your family.”

Police have refused to register a First Information Report on the incident, he said.

A group of five students had visited John on May 15, he said.

“They said, ‘Professor, you are a good teacher and a good human being, please convert to Islam and we will provide you with everything you need,’” John said. “I was surprised and said, ‘Why do you want me to convert? I am a Christian, and Jesus Christ is my Savior – He provides me with everything.”

One of the students became angry, saying, “Don’t forget that you are a family man,” John said. “I said, ‘I am not scared of anyone, God will protect me and my family.’”

He reported the matter to the dean of the University of Peshawar, but the official was unable to take any action because the Islamic students councils are supported by political parties and powerful Islamic groups, the professor said.

His family became worried, and other professors spoke of going on strike on John’s behalf, demanding an apology from the students who threatened him.

“They said, ‘This is a university, no one will be allowed to take the law in their hands – we are professors and teach everyone and do not discriminate by religion, caste, creed or color,’” John said.

But no action was taken against anyone. John subsequently faced various forms of harassment from different Islamic student groups who threw stones at his home, sent threatening letters and threatened his family over the phone, he said.

John had recently been honored with an award for best results in psychology at colleges throughout Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province. Muslim professors and Muslim student councils were upset that a Christian professor was getting so much attention, Christian sources said.

Students Pressured
Separately, in Danna village in southern Punjab Province, Muslim administrators told three Christian students in the eighth grade to leave the school because they refused to convert to Islam.

A new teacher of Islamic Studies who came from another village to Government High School Danna urged students in his class, Sunil Masih, Shazia Masih and Nasir Naeem, to convert to Islam, according to the father of Sunil, Ejaz Masih.

The teacher, whom the parents declined to name, is also a Muslim leader.

“The teacher began by saying, ‘Sunil, Shazia and Nasir, convert to Islam – it is the true religion, and you will go straight to heaven,” Ejaz Masih said.
The students reported the pressure to their parents, who came to the school and complained to the principal.

The principal asked the teacher to explain the details of what happened, but other staff members at the school supported the new teacher, Masih said. On June 16, under pressure from other teachers, the principal told the parents to remove their children from the school unless they were willing to convert to Islam.
“We have been forced to leave the village,” Masih said. “The police have refused to help us. We are helpless here.”

Masih, along with Sohail Masih and Naeem Boota, parents of the other children, have fled the village with their families. Their children were the only Christian students at the school.

Police Find 11 Beheaded Bodies In Afghan South

From Reuters:
The bodies of 11 men, their heads cut off and placed next to them, have been found in a violent southern province of Afghanistan, a senior police official said on Friday.

A police patrol discovered the bodies on Thursday in the Khas Uruzgan district of Uruzgan province, north of the Taliban stronghold of Kandahar, said police official Mohammad Gulab Wardak.

"This was the work of the Taliban. They beheaded these men because they were ethnic Hazaras and Shi'ite Muslims," he said.

The Taliban were not immediately available for comment about the incident. The militants usually dispute claims by Afghan and foreign security forces.

Hazaras, who make up roughly 15 percent of Afghanistan's population of around 30 million, largely follow the Shi'ite sect of Islam, a minority in Afghanistan, rather than the Sunni Muslim Taliban, who are also primarily ethnic Pashtuns.

Hazaras faced widespread oppression from the Taliban when the Islamists ruled most of the country during the 1990s. Mass graves containing the bodies of Hazaras have been found since the militants were overthrown in late 2001.

Violence in Afghanistan is at its worst levels in the 9-year war, with the Taliban stepping up their campaign of suicide bombings and assassinations, particularly in their Kandahar heartland.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, in a report to the 15-nation Security Council last week, said there had been an "alarming" rise in bomb and suicide attacks in Afghanistan over the past few months.

Some 80 foreign troops have been killed so far in June, making it the deadliest month for international forces since the war began. More than 300 troops have been killed so far this year compared with about 520 deaths for all of 2009.

On Friday, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force reported the deaths of two more troops in Afghanistan, one in the east and one in the south.

Indonesian Police Says Islamists Planning Attacks On European Embassy

From Reuters:
Indonesian police said on Friday they had uncovered plots to attack a European embassy and a police ceremony in the capital Jakarta, with some Islamist militants involved and explosives still unaccounted for.

Police have said militants may be switching tactics from bombing Westerners -- such as in nightclubs in Bali in 2002 and luxury hotels in Jakarta last year -- to armed attacks on state targets and institutions such as the president and the police.

The police's anti-terror unit Detachment 88 this week arrested five men in Java, discovering documents revealing plans to attack an embassy and a police anniversary on July 1, which the militant group referred to as "a birthday gift."

"The motive is revenge because police have captured their friends," national police spokesman Edward Aritonang told a news conference.

"It is not timely to say in detail what the plans would be, but we are worried that if the plan is that big, then maybe the preparation is not only limited to these guys that we have arrested."

Local media, quoting police sources, have reported the diplomatic target was the Danish embassy, but Aritonang declined to confirm this.

Denmark has been a frequent target of Islamist militants following the publication in a Danish newspaper in 2005 of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad.

Aritonang said militants had "prepared a handful of electronic devices to set up bombs" but that they were not connected to any explosives. "They (the explosives) might be stowed away in another place," he told reporters.

In this week's raids, police captured the country's most wanted Islamist preacher, Abdullah Sonata, shot dead a militant who used to be in the Indonesian army and seized revolvers, ammunition, and electronic devices for assembling bombs.

Indonesia has improved security through crackdowns on militants in recent years, but experts have said more still needs to be done in the country, Southeast Asia's largest economy and a current favorite for emerging market investors.

Aritonang said the government needed to find a new method to treat militant convicts and detainees given the fact that many ex-prisoners convicted under the anti-terror law have resumed activities after being released, including Sonata.

"We need to work comprehensively to stop these terrors from growing further. We need to return to the prisons and find new methods so that prisons are not used as schools," he said.

Jihadists Murder 4 Commuters In Philippines

From MSNBC:
MANILA, Philippines - About 30 hooded attackers, believed to be Abu Sayyaf militants, shot and hacked horrified victims as they ran for their lives in the southern Philippines, police said Thursday. Four people died and six were wounded in the ambush on a village road.

The suspected al-Qaida-linked militants apparently were trying to divert government troops from a weekslong offensive in a nearby town, said Antonio Mendoza, police chief for the island province of Basilan.

Most of the victims were commuters in a passenger jeep going home from Basilan's capital of Isabela City. The attackers were positioned on a hill and opened fire with rifles. Two passengers died instantly and others jumped from the jeep to flee, Mendoza said.

"They were fired upon as they ran. One of the attackers hacked a 10-year-old boy, who survived," Mendoza told The Associated Press.

The attackers fled toward a mountainous jungle, where troops were hunting for them, regional military commander Lt. Gen. Benjamin Dolorfino said.

The mid-afternoon attack in a sparsely populated village in Maluso town is the latest violence blamed on the Abu Sayyaf and its allied armed groups on Basilan, a predominantly Muslim island about 550 miles (880 kilometers) south of Manila.

About two weeks ago, Abu Sayyaf militants beheaded three loggers in a rain forest near Maluso.

Mendoza, who heads a 675-strong force, said he has sought at least 300 more policemen to better secure Basilan towns. About 100 extra police commandos were deployed to Basilan weeks ago to reinforce marines and army troops hunting Abu Sayyaf fighters.

Despite years of U.S.-backed offensives, nearly 400 Abu Sayyaf fighters have survived in Basilan and on nearby Jolo island and the Zamboanga peninsula. They remain a major security concern as part of a decades-long Muslim insurgency.

About 250 Abu Sayyaf fighters are based in Basilan. Their ranks have been bolstered by several militants who have moved from Jolo in recent months to escape intensified U.S.-backed offensives there, military officials say.

Two militants with the Southeast Asian militant network Jemaah Islamiyah — Malaysian Zulkifli bin Hir, who goes by the alias Marwan, and a Singaporean known only as Mauwiyah — were among those who have fled to Basilan from Jolo, according to a military intelligence official who helps oversee counterterrorism assaults.

He spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of his work.

The United States has offered a $5 million reward for Marwan's capture.

Separately, Philippine marines killed two Muslim rebels in two clashes on Jolo on Tuesday. Troops have been searching for the militants since they opened fire last month on local officials and marines involved in a road project in Jolo's Talipao town, the military said Thursday.

The Abu Sayyaf, founded in Basilan in 1991, is believed by U.S. and Philippine security officials to have received funds and training from Osama bin Laden's network.

Ramadan Fast Not Recommended During Pregnancy

From The Times of India:
A new study by scientists in the United States has revealed that pregnant Muslim women who fast during Ramadan are likely to have smaller babies who will be more prone to learning disabilities in adulthood.

The researchers also found that the women were 10 per cent less likely to give birth to a boy if they had fasted during Ramadan. The trend was clearest if the fasting was done early in the women’s pregnancy, and during the summer months, when long hours of daylight called for them to go longer without food.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and a time when Muslims across the world fast from dawn until sunset. Since fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a central part of Muslim culture, many women may fear a loss of connection with their communities or would feel guilty if they did not observe Ramadan.

The study, which used census data from the US, Iraq and Uganda, also discovered long-term effects on the adult’s health and his or her future economic success.

"We generally find the largest effects on adults when Ramadan falls early in pregnancy," the Independent quoted Douglas Almond, of Columbia University, and Bhashkar Mazumder, of the Federal Research Bank of Chicago, the authors of the research, as saying.

"Rates of adult disability are roughly 20 per cent higher, with specific mental disabilities showing substantially larger effects. Importantly, we detect no corresponding outcome differences when the same design is applied to non-Muslims," they added.

You Can't Ban The Burkha, Say Eurocrats

By Nick Fagge for the Express (UK):
EUROPE backed the burkha yesterday by ruling that the controversial Muslim veils should not be banned.

MPs from 47 countries voted unanimously that outlawing the full-face veils would deny women “who genuinely and freely desire to do so” the right to cover their faces.

The Council of Europe’s resolution is not binding on members of the group, which includes all European countries except Belarus, as well as Turkey.

But the vote by the human rights group threatens to torpedo bans planned in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain as it could open governments up to costly legal battles.

Last night the ruling was condemned as “out of touch”.

UKIP leader Lord Pearson said: “This vote just highlights the disconnection between the appointed politicians of the Council of Europe and the peoples of Europe.

“They refused to represent the people’s wishes, preferring to hold them in contempt.” Tory MP Philip Hollobone said: “It just goes to show how out of touch European politicians are with popular opinion.

“I have no doubt that the majority of the British public are against the wearing of the burkha and the full-face niqab veil.”

Belgium was set to become the first European state to ban the burkha after the country’s lower house of parliament voted unanimously in favour of outlawing it. An impending vote in the upper house would make it a criminal offence to wear “clothing that hides the face” in a public place.

The Council of Europe also branded the Swiss bigots for their ban on the construction of Islamic minarets. Last year Switzerland banned the building of the minarets – towers used to call Muslims to prayer – after a nationwide referendum.

Politicians claimed the minarets represent militant Islam. Switzerland is home to 400,000 Muslims out of a population of 7.5 million.

A third of Britons back an outright ban on the burkha and two-thirds believe it should be illegal to wear the full-face covering in places such as banks and airports, a poll found.

The survey of 1,000 people this year also found that 60 per cent said schools should be allowed to prevent teachers wearing burkhas.

UKIP has called for a total bar on the Islamic dress, claiming the burkha and niqab are symbols of an “increasingly divided Britain”.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Council of Britain has labelled French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s opposition to the burkha as “patronising and offensive”.

The French leader said: “The burkha is not a sign of religion, it is a sign of subservience. We cannot accept to have in our country women who are prisoners behind netting, cut off from all social life, deprived of identity.”

Yesterday’s resolution was approved by MPs including a British legation with Lib Dem Mike Hancock and Labour’s Lord McIntosh. The human rights group acknowledged that the veiling of women was seen as “a symbol of subjugation of women by men”.

However, the council ruled a general ban would impede the rights of women. “There should be no general prohibition on wearing the burkha and the niqab or other religious clothing,” the council said.

But the council added that a woman should not be “compelled to wear religious apparel by her community or family” – and that doing so constitutes a crime. And the council also left the door open for targeted laws against the wearing of the burkha.

It said that legal restrictions may be justified “for security purposes or where the public or professional functions of individuals require their religious neutrality, or that their face can be seen”.

The council’s ruling was part of a report on Islam, Islamism and Islamophobia voted on in Strasbourg yesterday. The group also called on European governments to educate Muslims, their families and communities on their human rights and to encourage them to take part in “public and professional life”.

Founded by Sir Winston Churchill in 1950, the Council of Europe is the continent’s human rights watchdog and oversees the European Court of Human Rights.

It is now made up of 47 members and is quite separate from the European Union.

Everything You Need to Know About The UN – In 2.5 Minutes

From Un:Dhimmi:

In the video above, the brilliant Hillel Neuer, director of UN watchdog UN Watch, slices and dices the Islamic-controlled United Nations Human Rights Council, in a speech in Vienna last week. This supposed protector of the oppressed has over the years been subjected to massive infiltration and corruption by a combination of various unsavoury Islamic States and their lobby organisation, the Organisation of the Islamic Conference.

Add a generous helping of non-Muslim third world brutes and dictators and you have what is supposed to be a internationally-respected agent of change that says nothing, as innocent people around the world are slaughtered, tortured and downtrodden by their governments and terrorists; while simultaneously churning out declaration after declaration about one country in particular – the Jewish State of Israel – and the rest of the civilised world in general.

The council also has a nice line in proposing sanctions and legislation against scrutinising or criticising its members, dressing this up as ‘racism’.

A previous UN Watch video (shown below) was actually ‘banned’ by the UNHRC as inadmissible. You can, however see this below. Enjoy, as Neuer once again tears them to pieces – although the satisfaction of watching him skillfully showing the UNHCR up for what it is, is diminished by the tragedy of the fact that nothing ever changes.

It is arguably the greatest moral inversion of our times – the foxes of Islamic fundamentalism and repressive, sociopathic and criminal kleptocracies in charge of the hen house of fundamental human rights and dignity – yet our politicians and their friends the the mainstream liberal media say and do nothing, continuing to accord it all the reverence due to such an august organisation – were it operating as it should.

As ever, the enablers and facilitators of such evil (the people that run your and our countries and report the news) are equally culpable – but, like the perpetrators, are never brought to book.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Says No To Shariah Courts

From The Foreigner (Norway):
Jonas Gahr Støre, Labour’s (Ap) Foreign Minister, has totally discounted the idea of establishing a Sharia council in Norway. He says a parallel court system is out of the question, arguing it does nothing to help integration.

“I believe desegregation is our society’s biggest social challenge. We must have a common fundament and a set of values anchored in universal principles of law if we are to succeed,” he tells Aftenposten.

According the paper, Norwegian Imams and the National Courts Administration have already said they’re open to the idea of establishing a council for civil matters such as divorce, inheritance, and domestic violence.

Støre, head of Labour’s integration panel that’s to present its report at next year’s Party Conference, argues there’s no place for a parallel system that makes judgements based on Islamic law. His Party has also given the principle the thumbs-down.

“We’re a constitutional state based on democracy, freedom of speech and religion, as well as equal opportunities and status,” says Støre.

Norwegian law forbids cultural traditions that discriminate against women, such as forced marriage and female circumcision.

“Practices not part of Norwegian culture shouldn’t be able to obtain legitimacy from alternative court systems,” he says.

Challenge

“[But] increased diversity means our society will need both established and new conflict management methods. Many within the immigrant communities can help to solve disputes at a low level. I welcome this.”

Støre also hopes the integration panel’s work will help open up the public desegregation debate, as well as challenging traditional fears of raising the matter in a non-discriminatory way.

“We must take the concerns of immigrants and ancestral Norwegians seriously, for example when an 80-year-old ethnic Norwegian woman fears the neighbourhood is changing, or the anxiety a 30-year-old Somali single mother experienced during her encounters with things that are purely Norwegian.”

Muslims Stone Jewish Dance Group In Germany

From Jihad Watch:
"Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews..." -- Qur'an 5:82

"Youths" at it again in Europe. At least this time AP manages to summon up a shred or two of integrity, and identifies them as "Arab" -- although that in itself is not quite accurate, since one was evidently a German Muslim.

Youths attack Jewish dance group in Germany," by Kirsten Grieshaber for Associated Press, June 24 (thanks to all who sent this in):
BERLIN - Arab youths threw stones at a Jewish dance group during a street festival in Hannover, injuring one dancer and forcing the group to cancel its performance, German police and dance officials said Thursday.

The teenagers also used a megaphone to shout anti-Semitic slursduring the attack Saturday, Hannover police spokesman Thorsten Schiewe said.

I don't remember such a dramatic attack in Germany in recent times," said Michael Fuerst, the head of the Jewish community of the state of Lower Saxony.

Six suspects have been identified -- five Arabic immigrants and one German -- and police are looking for the other three, police said. The six range from nine to 19 years old and have been questioned by police....

Stephan Kramer of the Central Council of Jews in Germany condemned the attack.

"This latest incident shows something we have not experienced before: A growing radicalization of young Muslims, which affects not only the Jewish community but the entire German community," Kramer told The Associated Press....

Alla Volodarska of the Progressive Jewish community of Hannover dance group said its members were still in shock.

"What happened is just so awful," Volodarska told the AP. "The teenagers started throwing stones the moment our dance group was announced, even before they started dancing."...

Human Remains Still Being Found At Ground Zero

From the Daily Mail (UK):
It's been nearly nine years since the Towers came crashing down, killing nearly 3,000 people.

But there will be fresh heartache for the families of victims today as it emerged that, despite the years, investigators are still finding human remains in the debris.

A renewed search of debris in and around the World Trade Centre site has recovered 72 human remains, New York City officials have said.

The sifting of more than 800 cubic yards of debris recovered from Ground Zero and underneath roads around the lower Manhattan site began in April and ended on Friday.
The greatest number of remains - 37 - were found from material underneath West Street, a highway on the west side of Ground Zero.

The new debris was uncovered as construction work made new parts of the site accessible.

The city began a renewed search for human remains in 2006, with more than 1,800 remains recovered so far.

Some have been matched to previously unidentified September 11 victims.
The grisly discovery comes as plans for a performing arts centre at Ground Zero begin to take shape.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's board approved a deal today that would have the City pay it back for the $40million construction at the World Trade Centre site.

Authority spokesman Steve Coleman says some work on the foundation and shared infrastructure is in progress, but other parts of the project have not yet been contracted out.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg's spokesman Andrew Brent says the city expects to pay for the work with funds from the Lower Manhattan Development Corp. rebuilding agency.

The arts centre was part of the original master plan for Ground Zero, but there has never been a budget or a timetable for its construction.

In May a New York City community board voted in favour of a plan to build a mosque and cultural centre near the site.

The mosque is part of a proposed 13-storey Muslim community centre, which will include a swimming pool, gym, theatre and sports facilities.

The building, which was damaged by the fuselage of one of the hijacked planes, is at 45 Park Place - just two blocks from Ground Zero.

Conservative activists and families of the victims of the 9/11 attacks had objected to the plans.

A new hotel just to the south of the Twin Towers site opened earlier this month – and ran straight into controversy by offering guests ‘stirring’ views of the Ground Zero construction site.

The World Centre Hotel was officially opened by Mayor Michael and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows in some of its 169 rooms.

It also features a 20th floor restaurant terrace which is almost level with the 40-storey Deutsche Bank tower which was irreparably contaminated in the attack and is in the process of being dismantled.

Managers at the hotel have defended the decision to open the project - which was in development before the terrorist strike on 9 /11 - as part of New York's regeneration.

Cheryl Palmer, corporate vice president of revenue and product development of the World Centrr Hotel told one U.S. newspaper: 'The construction is a sign of the rebuilding and revitalisation - it shows the progress that's been made. There are no surprises in terms of out location.'

Saudi Women Vow To Breastfeed Their Drivers

This is somewhat connected to this story.

The apparent aim would be to give women the ability to drive while mocking a recent breast-feeding fatwa in Saudi Arabia.

From QatarLiving.com:
Riyadh: Saudi women plan to turn a controversial fatwa (religious ruling) to their advantage and launch a campaign to achieve their long-standing demand to drive in this conservative kingdom.

If the demand is not met, the women threatened to follow through the fatwa which allows them to breastfeed their drivers and turn them into their sons.

The campaign will be launched under the slogan: "We either be allowed to drive or breastfeed foreigners," a journalist told Gulf News.

Amal Zahid said that their decision follows a fatwa issued by a renowned scholar which said that Saudi women can breastfeed their foreign drivers for them to become their sons.

"As every Saudi family needs a driver, our campaign will focus on women's right to drive," she said.

The controversial fatwa, which was regarded as both funny and weird, issued recently by Shaikh Abdul Mohsin Bin Nasser Al Obaikan, member of Saudi Council of Senior Scholars and adviser to the king, has sparked a debate in society.

The renowned scholar said Saudi women can breastfeed their foreign drivers for them to be become their sons and brothers to their daughters.

Under this relationship, foreign drivers can mix freely with all members of the family without breaking the Islamic rule which does not allow mixing of genders.
Breast milk kinship is considered to be as good as a blood relationship in Islam.

"A woman can breastfeed a mature man so that he becomes her son. In this way, he can mix with her and her daughters without violating the teachings of Islam," the scholar said.

‘Ridiculous and weird'

Al Obaikan based his fatwa on a Hadith (saying) of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) which was narrated by Salim, the servant of Abu Huzaifa.

Later, Al Obaikan clarified that his fatwa was being distorted by the local media which ignored the condition that the milk should be drawn out of the woman and given to the man in a cup to drink.

Speaking to Gulf News, a number of Saudi women condemned the fatwa. Fatima Al Shammary was quoted by the local Arabic daily Al Watan as saying the fatwa was "ridiculous and weird".

"This fatwa has become a hot topic of debate among women. Is this is all that is left to us to do: to give our breasts to the foreign drivers?" she said.

Another Saudi woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity, questioned: "Does Islam allow me to breastfeed a foreign man and prevent me from driving my own car?

"I have not breastfed my own children. How do you expect me to do this with a foreign man? What is this nonsense?" she said.

Another woman said the fatwa should also apply to the husbands who should be breastfed by housemaids. By doing so, all will be brothers and sisters," she said.

Hamid Al Ali, a journalist for an electronic newspaper, recalled that an Egyptian driver who had a crush on a female teacher he drives to school asked her to breastfeed him. When she retorted angrily, he said: "I want to be your son."

Saudi writer Suzan Al Mashhadi sarcastically asked Al Obaikan: "Do the women have to breastfeed the driver in the presence of their husbands or can they do this alone?"
"Who will protect the wife if the husband entered the house unexpectedly and found his wife breastfeeding the driver?" she asked.

Is A Religious Bus Ban On My Dog Right?

By Judith Woods for The Telegraph:
On two occasions last week my dog was barred from London buses, not because she's particularly fierce or big, but on religious grounds. A friend and I had taken her to the park, and as I went across to the grocer, my friend took Daisy, a Manchester terrier, to the bus stop.

As they tried to board the bus, the driver stopped her and told her that there was a Muslim lady on the bus who "might be upset by the dog". As she attempted to remonstrate, the doors closed and the bus drew away.

When a second bus arrived, she again made to embark, but was stopped again – this time because the driver said he was Muslim. I know that Muslims consider dogs to be unclean, but last time I looked this wasn't a Muslim country and London Transport was a non-denominational organisation.

I'm a Catholic, but I'm hardly likely to start insisting that no divorced people should be allowed on my bus. I have no intention of causing upset with my dog and I wouldn't allow her to brush against anyone who was at pains to avoid her. None the less, I instinctively cavil at this creeping intolerance, masquerading as pious devotion, whatever its origins.

World Cup 2010 - Algerian Slaps Female Reporter

From Yahoo Sports:
Algeria player Rafik Saifi slapped a female journalist across the face as the aftermath of the USA’s dramatic World Cup victory turned ugly at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday night.

While walking through the interview zone, Saifi spotted writer Asma Halimi, who works for Algerian newspaper Competition, and struck her with his open hand in front of dozens of witnesses. Halimi responded by striking the player in the mouth.

Saifi then threw a sports drink bottle at a wall in the interview area, as Halimi was ushered away by security staff.

Saifi came on as substitute for the last five minutes of the USA’s 1-0 victory.

“I said nothing to him and he reached over and hit me,” Halimi said to Yahoo! Sports. “So I hit him back. I said nothing to him first.”

It is understood that Saifi and Halimi had previously had a difference of opinion over an article she wrote for her newspaper.

“She was standing there and the guy came here and he hit her,” said Francisco Aguilar Chang, a reporter from Guatemala who witnessed the incident. “Then she hit him back and her nail caught his lip.”

Saifi and Algerian football association officials refused to comment when quizzed by Yahoo! Sports.

The Algerian team has come under heavy criticism in its homeland after a disappointing World Cup in which it finished at the bottom of Group C and was knocked out of the tournament.

When asked if she would launch an official complaint with governing body FIFA and the Algerian FA. Halimi replied: “Of course.”

Bekasi: Islamic Extremists Destroy An "Immoral And Blasphemous" Sculpture

From Asia News:
It was the "Three young women” sculpture, by a famous Bali artist to welcome those coming into the district. For the fundamentalists it was "immoral", referring to the "Christian Trinity " and aims to convert. Artist: act stupid and misleading".

Jakarta (AsiaNews) - Islamic fundamentalists in the district of Bekasi, 30 km east of Jakarta, have obtained the destruction of a statue of "Three young women," because it was deemed blasphemous. The bare chest and symbols related to the number "three" - the Trinity of Christian nature - make the work of art "obscene" and "desecrate" the religion of Mohammed. The sculptor has expressed disappointment and disbelief at the destruction, ordered last June 19 by the local authorities, describing the act "stupid and misleading." The Bekasi district thus registers as a new episode of religious extremism after attacks on churches and Christian buildings. Theatre of a rapid urbanization, the area not far from the Indonesian capital has not been able to harmonise economic development and peaceful coexistence, especially between Christians and Muslims.

Recently, the Islamic Defence Front (FPI) pointed the finger at the statue of the "Three young women" (Tiga Mojana in local language), a work by the sculptor Nyoman Nuart, a native of Bali who is famous worldwide. The extremists have branded the work as "obscene and blasphemous" and have had it destroyed. The artist notes that the sculpture has nothing offensive to the religion of Mohammed, adding that "while being topless," the 17 meters high work of art has no sexual significance and does not intend to offend Islamic morality, also because the young women wear clothes typical of the region of West Java.

An even more "ridiculous" accusation is that the image seeks to convert people to Christianity: the three women, according to the extremists, recall the "trinity", and therefore had to be demolished. In fact, there are three women because there are three directions leading to the roundabout where the statue was erected. And each woman, according to the intentions of the author, was to symbolise a “welcome” to those who entered the district.

Following the wave of protests, the district chief imposed the statute’s destruction. A decision, taken by the authorities, also opposed by the moderate fringe of Muslims, according to which "the work of one of the most respected artists in the area, has now gone with the wind." A local witness, under conditions of anonymity, told AsiaNews that every work of the art should be appreciated, as long as "there is nothing blasphemous or contrary to any religion."

Court Ruling: Honor killing Plan Is ‘Freedom Of Thought’

From Today's Zaman (Turkey):
A Diyarbakır court has dropped the charges against eight people from a family who were planning to kill a girl in the name of honor, ruling that they cannot be sentenced for thoughts that did not turn into action.

According to the Sabah daily, the men of the family had planned to call the girl in question, Kadriye, who ran away with her boyfriend, telling her that they had forgiven her. Then they were going to have her 14-year-old brother kill her. The plan was uncovered when Kadriye’s mother, 55-year-old Fatma Ç., notified a gendarme in a village in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır about the plan.

Criminal charges were brought against the eight men -- two uncles, three brothers and three other family members -- for planning to murder Kadriye in the name of honor. The mother was the plaintiff, while Kadriye was listed as the victim in the indictment prepared by a public prosecutor. In the trial, the three brothers said they did not plot to kill their sister, and the mother recanted her statement. “I asked for help to find my daughter, but I didn’t file a complaint about a plan to kill her,” she said during the trial. While noting that Kadriye could not be found despite all efforts and her testimony could not be taken, the court dropped the charges against the suspects, stating that “even though the suspects decided to kill Kadriye in the name of honor, the decision was only in the thought phase. No one can be charged with a crime for thoughts that do not turn into actions.”

U.S. Mainstream Muslim Group Makes Excuses For Imam Who Molested Boy

From Yid With Lid:
There are few things more evil than a religious leader who molests children. Yasser Mohamed Shahade is that kind of evil. On Thursday, he was sentenced to ten years probation and designation as a sex offender after pleading guilty to molesting a boy in his mosque.

US Terrorist group The Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) says the Imam is innocent, he only pleaded guilty because a Muslim cannot get a fair trail in the US.

Unfortunately for Mr. Shahade the facts tell a different story.
He entered the United States on a visitor's visa to serve as a full-time imam, or Muslim prayer leader, at a local mosque, Masjid Omar Al Mokhtar, just north of Kennedy Boulevard near downtown Tampa. About two months later, police arrested him after a teen boy who stayed overnight at the mosque with his younger brother said the imam had sexually assaulted him.

Shahade faced 15 years in prison if convicted of sexual battery on a minor. He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of lewd and lascivious behavior, expecting to be deported and released in Egypt, according to Charles Traina, an attorney for the Hillsborough County Public Defender's Office, which represented him.

Reached by phone Thursday, the boy's father said he was happy with the outcome, which ensures that another child in the local Muslim community would not suffer the fate of his son.

The St. Petersburg Times is withholding the father's name to protect the victim's identity.

He said his son has been seeing a psychologist regularly since the incident and will continue to do so for a while. The father said his family has forgiven Shahade, adding that his actions have brought shame to the cleric's family — a wife and two daughters, who live in Egypt.

"Had this man been innocent he would never plead to anything," the father said. "I knew he was guilty all along."
Ah...but CAIR doesn't:
Ramzy Kilic, director of the local chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations, a civil rights advocacy group, said the Muslim community appears divided on the subject of Shahade's guilt.

"We'll never know all the details," Kilic said. "He may have made that plea deal because he didn't think he would have a fair trial. That doesn't necessarily mean he was guilty."

Still, Kilic said, if Shahade had been found guilty after a trial, it would have been "a huge shame."
You notice that CAIR this supposed civil rights group doesn't give a rats arse about the Muslim boy who was molested? That's because CAIR doesn't care about human rights, they care about promoting "the image" of Islam in America, to keep pubic opinion on its side as it tries to advance the infiltration of sharia into American society.

'Allahu Akbar!' Shouted As Christians Cuffed

From World Net Daily:
Witness: 'I never thought I would see this in America'

Four Christians were arrested and thrown out of a public Arab festival in Michigan – and at least two people claim a crowd cheered "Allahu akbar!" while the Christians were led away in handcuffs for doing nothing more than engaging in peaceful dialogue and videotaping the event.

Nabeel Qureshi, David Wood, Paul Rezkalla and 18-year-old Negeen Mayel attended the 15th annual Dearborn Arab International Festival on June 18 in Dearborn, Mich., where an estimated 30,000 of the city's 98,000 residents are Muslim.

The American Arab Chamber of Commerce announced the event was expected to draw "over 300,000 people from across the country, Canada and the Middle East." The festival covers 14 blocks and is free and open to the public.

Qureshi and Mayel are former Muslims who are now Christians. Mayel's parents emigrated from Afghanistan. Wood is a former atheist. All are from a Christian group called Acts 17 Apologetics.

In the following video after the arrest, Qureshi said his group took "extra precautions" to prevent disruptions by not handing out pamphlets and to speak only to people "who first approached us":

"This was to limit accusations of instigation and disruption," he explained. "We knew people have a tendency to accuse us of being disruptive, of inciting and instigating. So we wanted to make sure we did absolutely nothing of the sort."

Qureshi said people at the festival recognized his group from its visit in 2009. Last year, the Acts 17 Apologetics team was escorted from the grounds while being allegedly assaulted by security personnel and several attendees. The following is the group's footage of the incident:

This year, Qureshi said some attendees who recognized them "would come up to us, accusing us, threatening us, saying we were racists, saying they were going to hurt us and yelling curses and insults at us."

However, he said his group was able to engage in civil conversations with many people who initiated discussion. But then the group was arrested by local police. Each of the four are now free on bond....
